The Strings of Autumn
International Music Festival

The Strings of Autumn present a varied range of music as it exists in the modern musical life. The festival programme offers not only "classical" music in its modern as well as "authentic" interpretation but also jazz, worldmusic and so called crossover projects, in which different traditional genres merge. The performances are often created on commission from the festival as unique productions, others are special by combining artists from seemingly incompatible worlds or they resonate with the venue in an unusal way. Three programme sections: ISNPIRATION, CROSSOVER, PERSONALITIES are characteristic of the Strings of Autumn.

In co-production with the National Theatre Prague the Strings of Autumn present the Czech premiere of the opera "Don Juan in Prague" at the Estates Theatre on 22 October 2006. The performance is a part of the Mozart Prague 2006 project. The singer, violinist and actor Iva Bittová excels as Donna Elvira. The international cast also includes the Agon Orchestra led by Petr Kofroň.

Tickets are sold at the festival information and ticket sales centre at the box office of the National Theatre, Wednesdays to Fridays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
